Guy Penrod

Guy Penrod ( born July 2, 1963 in Abilene, Texas) is an American gospel and Christian music singer who was known as the lead singer of the Gaither Vocal Band.

Biography

Penrod grew up in a pastor's family in the southwestern United States. At Liberty University in Lynchburg, he studied music and singing. He then worked briefly as a music teacher at a Christian school in Atlanta, before moving to Nashville as a professional musician.

In music metropolis, he worked as a studio singer for many famous musicians from the area country and gospel and became a regular on the TV show Music City Tonight.

In 1994, he became the lead singer of the Gaither Vocal Band. It began the most successful period of the band with eight top 10 albums with his participation.

14 years he remained an influential voice of Bill Gaither's band before he took a break in 2008 and eventually made ​​independently and began a solo career. His solo debut, Breathe Deep appeared in 2010 and reached the Top 10 of the Christian charts.
