Guy T. Houlsby

Guy Houlsby Tinmouth is a British civil engineer in geotechnical engineering. He is a professor at the University of Oxford.

Houlsby 1981 at the University of Cambridge with Charles Peter Wroth doctorate (A Study of Plasticity Theories and Their Applicability to Soils ).

It deals with offshore foundations such as wind turbines ( such as " Suction Caisson " start-ups ), jack-up platforms and the development of tidal turbines, in situ tests (such as CPT, Rammsondierung ), soil improvement, tunnels (eg, modeling subsidence damage to buildings ) and the development of constitutive models of soils ( with thermodynamic theory of plasticity such as Hyper plasticity, principles of application ).

He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. For 2014, he was selected as a Rankine Lecturer ( Interactions in Offshore Foundation Design).
