Gyula Dávid

Gyula Dávid ( born May 6, 1913 in Budapest, † March 14, 1977 ) was a Hungarian composer.

Dávid was a student of Zoltán Kodály and worked as a violist with the Civic Orchestra of Budapest. 1945 to 1949 he conducted the orchestra of the National Theatre, after which he was professor of chamber music. He composed four symphonies and a Sinfonietta, a violin, a horn and a Viola Concerto (1950 ), choral works and chamber music.
