Gyula Kabos

Gyula Kabos [ ɟulɒ kɒboʃ ] ( born March 18, 1887 in Budapest, Austria - Hungary, † October 6, 1941 in New York City, New York, United States) was a famous Hungarian film comedians of the 1930s.

Life

Gyula Kabos graduated from drama school in 1905 and worked as a dance comedian. In the next few decades he worked at many theaters in Budapest. His breakthrough as a film actor came with Hyppolit a lakaj ( 1931). As a result Kabos turned in Hungary to 1938 a variety of entertainment films in which he played mostly the "little man" who somehow brings their way through life. 1938 Kabos was prevented by the adoption of the Hungarian racial laws in the work for the film. In 1939, he managed to emigrate to the United States to close its hope, even here on past successes, however, was in vain. Kabos impoverished and ultimately took his own life.
