Gyula Kosice

Gyula Kosice ( born April 26, 1924 in Košice, at that time in Czechoslovakia ) as Fernando Fallik is a Slovak- burly Argentine object artist and representatives of kinetic art and Light Art in conjunction with water and noble gases, the " Hydrokinetik ".

Life and work

In 1947 he had his first solo exhibition at the Bohemian Club in Galerias Pacifico in Buenos Aires, the first exhibition of abstract art in Latin America. In 1949 he began his "Hydro Kinetic " objects of water, light and movement. In 1961 he had an exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and takes in 1967 in the exhibition Art Light Art in the Van Abbe Museum in Eindhoven part. In 1968 he was represented by four hydro kinetic objects on the documenta 4 in Kassel. Gyula Kosice had a total of 40 individual and 500 group exhibitions.

Gyula Kosice used the name of his native town as a stage name. He was one of the forerunners of abstract and non -figurative art in Latin America. He used the first time in the international art scene, water and neon gas as part of a work of art. Light and movement are an essential part in his works. Kosice has transformed his studio and his workshop into a museum. He is an Argentine citizen and lives in Buenos Aires.
