H. A. Sinclair de Rochemont

Hugues Alexandre Sinclair de Rochemont ( born January 6, 1901 in Hilversum, † March 13, 1942 near Grisi, Soviet Union) was a Dutch fascist and collaborator with the Germans during the Second World War.

While studying Indology at Leiden University, he met the right Professor Gerardus Johannes Petrus Josephus Bolland know and founded in 1924 together with Alfred Haighton the first fascist party in the country, the Verbond van Actualisten. This grouping stood for election in 1925 and got only 0.08 % of the vote.

He also worked as a journalist for De Vader Lander. In 1927 he began the publication of the De Bezem ( The Broom ), a fascist journal, which was addressed to members of the working class. In 1930, he ended the cooperation with Haighton.

He teamed up with his Belgian Joris Van Severen. He joined in 1940 the Dutch National Front and the Nationaal - Socialistische Nederlandsche Arbeiderspartij.

Sinclair volunteered for the Dutch Waffen-SS and died on the Eastern Front near Grisi in the Soviet Union.
