Habo

Habo is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Jönköping County, in the historical province of Västergötland.

The chief town of the same name is located on the railway line Nässjö - Falköping as well as on the west shore of Lake Vättern, a few kilometers north of Jönköping.

Church of Habo

The Church of Habo is not right in place, but just to the west inland, and is one of the attractions. It is a wooden church and took its present form 1723. The special feature of the church is that it is reminiscent of a cathedral, although it is completely made ​​of wood. She has a high central nave and two lower side aisles. The paintings date from the period 1741-1743 by two painters from Jönköping, Johan Kinnerus and Johan Christian Peterson. They show Luther's summary of Christian doctrine.
