Habonim Dror

Habonim Dror (Hebrew הבונים דרור; " Builders of Freedom" ) is a cosmopolitan Jewish youth organization of the Socialist Zionists. Originally the association was connected with the party Poale Zion. The sister organization in Israel 's Histadrut ha - ha - No'ar Owed we- ha - Lomed.

History

Habonim Dror was born in 1982 when the youth associations Ha - Bonim and Dror merged after the respective kibbutz organizations in 1980 were merged to form the kibbutz movement HaTenoa'a HaKibbuzit HaMeuchedet.

Dror

In 1942 members of Dror involved in the founding of the Jewish Fighting Organization in the Warsaw ghetto, among them Yitzhak Zuckerman.

Dissemination

The youth organization now operates in seventeen countries, including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Netherlands, Hungary, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States and Uruguay.

The German member association is the Zionist youth groups in Germany with Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich.
