Hachikokuyama

Hachikokuyama (Japanese八 国 山 绿地, Hachikokuyama - Ryokuchi ) is a park in Japan, for the most part in the city Higashimurayama ( Tokyo Prefecture), but also partly in the administrative area of the city of Tokorozawa ( Saitama Prefecture) is located.

He served as a model for parts of the Japanese animated feature film My Neighbor Totoro and thereby gained a certain notoriety. In Japanese, it is classified as Ryokuchi (绿地). Ryokuchi literally means " grassland " and usually called natural state land, as opposed to a typical park.

The park has a size of about 39 hectares.
