Hack Simpson

Charles Harold " Hack " Simpson ( born December 7, 1909 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, † March 1978 in Montreal, Quebec ) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. In the 1932 Olympics he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.

Career

Hack Simpson began his career as a hockey player with the Winnipeg Pilgrims, for by 1929 he was active from 1927 in the Winnipeg Junior Hockey League. In the season 1929/30 he played for the youth team of the University of Manitoba. In the 1930/31 season he won with the Winnipeg Hockey Club the Allan Cup, the Canadian Amateur Championship. At the Winter Games in 1932, he represented Canada at the Winnipeg Hockey Club. Following the tournament he played for the Windsor Bulldogs of the International Hockey League and the Castors de Québec from the Canadian - American Hockey League. Most recently, he was in 14 games for the Montreal Royals of the Quebec Senior Hockey League. In 2004, he was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.

Internationally

For Canada, Simpson participated in the 1932 Olympics in part in Lake Placid, where he won the gold medal with his team.
