Hades Almighty

Hades Almighty is a pagan metal band from Bergen ( Norway), which was known under the name of Hades 1992-1999.

Band History

Jørn Inge Tunsberg, former guitarist of Immortal, and Remi (drums) founded in 1992 Hades. In contrast to the Black Metal scene around them, they resorted to pagan instead of satanic themes. In 1993 she found with Janto Garmanslund (bass, vocals) and Nagel ( second guitar) more supporters and brought the demo alone Walkyng in the same year out. In the former black metal underground, the band became known very quickly and could sign for her debut album at Full Moon Productions. Her reputation in the underground but also carried a prison sentence of at Tunsberg for arson at a church in Åsane, which he served in 1993. Unlike some other bands, but Hades did not use it for self-presentation to the media and thus gained less fame than many other Norwegian bands; Tunsberg emphasizes, however, to stand still behind the act.

In December 1994, appeared ... Again Shall Be. The band's name was added to prevent any problems with the American band of the same name, a Norway. Even before the shooting got out nail and was replaced by Stig Hagen. In 1996, the demo at Wounded Love Records, a sub- label of avant-garde Music re-released.

1997 appeared the album The Dawn of the Dying Sun, on which the band began traditional instruments like jaw harp and violin. The vinyl version also included the debut and was limited to 1,000 units. Hades toured in connection including through Europe, the U.S. and Mexico.

In 1998, work began on the successor to Dawn of the Dying Sun. After a tour with Mayhem and Primordial by the Benelux countries and a subsequent tour with Immortal and Benediction, the band finally called into Hades Almighty. Millenium Nocturne, their third album, was released in 1999 and was moved from Hammerheart Records and licensed from Nuclear Blast. Stig Hagenes then rose out of the band.

Was published in 2001 Hades Almightys to date last album The Pulse of Decay. Except for a re-release of this last album it was from then quiet around the band. According to statements by the new record label Dark Essence Records she is currently working on new material. Since Tunsberg focused on his other band dominance and Garmanslund and Remi were employed because of their children and their other projects, the band was inactive for some time. Published in 2010 Displeased Records Alone Walkyng and ... Again Shall Be mastered together and The Dawn of the Dying Sun with unreleased material, in contrast to the original pressings the reissues were first.
