Hagerman is a village in Gooding County in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Idaho between Twin Falls and Boise. The village has about 570 inhabitants ( 2000). Through the town flows the Snake River.

Hagerman was born in the 19th century from a stagecoach station of the Overland Trail route of the Oregon Trail. As a founding date of the opening of a store with an attached post by Stanley Hageman and Jack Hess is seen in 1892. Hagerman is named after one of its founders Stanley Hageman, but a typo in the central postal administration with additional r.

Near the village, the Hagerman Valley of the Snake River, called by numerous hot springs and a group of small waterfalls Thousand Springs is located. Hagerman and Hagerman Valley are an important region of origin of fresh trout that are grown there in aquaculture.

In Hagerman is the visitor and information center of the Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument, an archaeological site about four million year old fossils. Became famous this place, especially as the site where the " Hagerman Horse ' ( Plesippus shoshonensis ), an extinct genus of horses, of which there about 200 skeletons were recovered. This prehistoric horse is the emblem Fossil Idaho.
