Hakenstedt is a municipality in the district of Erxleben Borde in Saxony -Anhalt.

Geography

The next settlements are clockwise Uhrsleben ( 2 km), Groppendorf ( 2 km), Ovelgünne ( 4 km) and Eilsleben ( 6 km).

Groppendorf was formerly a district of Hakenstedt.

History

The first written mention dates from the year 1142. According to the place names Hakenstedt however, is much older. Hakenstedt, formerly located at the fish-rich lake Selschen, was founded as a fishing village.
