Haliplus
Haliplus mucronatus
Haliplus is a genus of beetles in the family of the phalarope ( Haliplidae ). In Europe, 30 species have been recorded, including 18 in Central Europe.
Features
The bugs look very similar to those of the genus Peltodytes. Your body is elliptical, boat-shaped and they have a trapezoidal, tapered forward pronotum, which is basally widest. Short Basalstrichel can be configured or missing. The elytra are ovate and contribute dot stripe, but lack the Suturalstreifen on the posterior half of the elytra, near the elytra seam. This seam is behind most pointed. The males have slightly enlarged tarsi of the front legs.
Occurrence and life
The animals live similar to those of the genus Peltodytes on water plants in clean, standing or slow- flowing waters.
