Hall of Fame Racing

Hall of Fame Racing was a motorsport team in the NASCAR Sprint Cup and stemmed from a joint venture of two former quarterbacks in American football of Dallas Cowboys Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman. In September 2007, Jeff Moorad and Tom Garfinkel bought from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the team.

Established in 2003, the team began its first season in the Nextel Cup in the 2006 season, with technical assistance from Joe Gibbs Racing. The headquarters are located in Dallas, Texas, during the workshop is located in Charlotte, North Carolina.

History

The first announcement of the new team took place in 2004, but it took two years before it was erected. On 3 November 2005 the team at Texas Motor Speedway announced that it will go into the 2006 season with a car at the start. Was sponsored with the start number 96, developed by Texas Instruments DLP technology. The first five races Terry Labonte drove the car and placed within the top 35, which guaranteed a starting place in the next race. Labonte drove the car as on the two road courses. In the remaining races Tony Raines was driving. The best result of the team in the 2006 season was a third place finish at Infineon Raceway.

On 4 September 2007, the team, the former driver of the Interstate Batteries Chevrolet with start number 18 by Joe Gibbs Racing announced to have taken JJ Yeley under contract. The contract ran until 2010.

The best result in 2008 was a third place in New Hampshire. In September 2008 it was announced that Troy Aikman, Roger Staubach, Bill Saunders and Mark Griege are no longer the owner of the racing team.

At the end of the season of 2009, the team was closed after two mergers.
