Hallerbach (Holtebach)

The Hallerbach northwest of Hovelhof

The Hallerbach is an orographic right tributaries of the Holte Bach in North Rhine -Westphalia, Germany. It has a length of 3.0 km.

River course

The Hallerbach rises in the Senne within the Hövelhofer forest by the confluence of numerous ditches, where it is partly to outflows from the nature reserve Moosheide. The water follows the southwestern flattening of the environment, leads north past Hovelhof and crosses then the local industrial area. Finally, the Hallerbach opens in again wooded grounds on the right side in the nearly parallel Holte Bach.

Differences in the classification

Contrary to the official classification considered by some sources to Hallerbach, which in contrast to the Holte Bach ( " Lower Hallerbach " ) is also referred to as "Upper Hallerbach " than estuary waters of the creek Holte and also the black water creek. Under this assumption, which is also represented on the information board at the caused by a bifurcation origin of the black water stream that Hallerbach would thus be the first named tributary of the Ems. However, the official geodata material not used this system.
