Halmahera Sea

The Halmaherasee ( Indonesian: According Halmahera ) is a 95,000 -square-mile marginal sea of the Pacific Ocean and is part of the Australasian Mediterranean Sea. It is located in the Malay Archipelago and is a tropical sea.

The Halma down corners reaches a depth of 2039 m.

South of the sea goes in the Ceram Sea, west in the Molukkensee over.

The southwest lie the Obi Islands, the islands in the West Halmahera and Morotai, in the east the Raja Ampat Islands and belonging to New Guinea peninsula Vogelkop. Vogelkop and Raja Ampat belong to the Indonesian province of Papua Barat, the other islands of the province of Maluku Utara ( North Moluccas ). Between Halmahera and Morotai is about the Morotaistraße ( Selat Morotai ) a compound west to Molukkensee.
