Halothamnus iliensis is a species of the genus Halothamnus in the family of Amaranthaceae ( Amaranthaceae ). It thrives in semi-deserts of Central Asia.

Description

Vegetative characteristics

Halothamnus iliensis is an annual plant with blue-green, bright striped branches. The alternate, semi- terete leaves are linear with a length of usually up to 30, rarely 50 mm.

Generative features

The flowers are 3.8 to 4.6 mm in length shorter than its bract and bracteoles her. Your lanceolate tepals wear a membranous elongated tip at the top. The scars are wider at the tip and serrated frayed.

The Central Asian distribution area of Halothamnus iliensis includes Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, northern Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Halothamnus iliensis grows in semi-desert on sandy, clayey or stony, often saline ground at altitudes of up to about 850 meters.

Taxonomy

The first description of this kind took place in 1912 under the name Salsola iliensis by Vladimir Ippolitowitsch Lipski. Paul Aellen they grouped in 1950 as Aellenia iliensis ( Lipsky ) Aellen in the genus Aellenia. It was founded in 1981 by Victor Petrovich Botschantzev as Halothamnus iliensis ( Lipsky ) Botsch. placed in the genus Halothamnus.
