Halter hitch

The Anbindeknoten serves the tab for quick and secure attachment of a horse that is immediately released at any time.

Name and history

For the riders, grooms and fanciers that node is known as Pferdeanbindeknoten or short Anbindeknoten and is used in many countries and cultures for tethering of horses and other animals. From Ashley he is somewhat modified as described " Schlingenstek with Slip".

Use

The Anbindeknoten is immediately solved by a train at the free end. A tethered horse does when it gets scared and in a panic, be untied immediately so that it can implement its flight reflex and calm down. At the same time Anbindeknoten is a secure fastening. Make sure the horse can not even bring up the node with the mouth, the loose end is sometimes still plugged in through the loop.

When sailing, the node is often used to attach the leash a ship's boat at the dock or on the boat. One can then solve the dinghy from the node to drop.

The node has the property that it tightens when pulling on the fixed end, but opens immediately when pulling on the loose end, with multiple socializing that happens cascade.

Loop inserted through the eye

Tightened

The Anbindeknoten exists in two versions. In one variant, the cable is wrapped around the bar, or drawn through the ring. With the loose end of one eye is placed. The other version begins when an eye is applied and is drawn through the ring. In both variants, the eye is placed on the fixed end, with the loose end of the bay is on top. The loose end is now placed as a loop around the fixed end and tightened by the eye. The result is an overhand knot to slip, which lies to the pulling end around.

The advantage of an eye to the beams, or by the ring, that a " unthreading " of the beam or out of the ring is no longer necessary. The node can be fully raised, thus allowing, for example, a rider the horse directly on the rope without any additional hand grips on the resolution of the final loop. The disadvantage of this method is that load on the non- free end can cause the node moves, partially slides into the ring or around the rod and may tangle with very heavy load. The function or resilience are thus not affected, however, by train at the free end of the node remains solvable.

The advantage of another variant is that the cable extends, even after the release nor the beam or through the ring. For example, a tightly bound Dinghy be solved in this way quickly, without it being then held in the hand. Instead, the tension continues to develop around the beam, whereby the friction force slows down the " running-out " at the bar, the flap apart; at the same time, the direction of pull evenly (for bars) and runs also towards edge of the boat or even boat center, whereas a freely held, dancing on the waves dinghy is more difficult to keep the change in the tensile direction and the person holding also can go out on the sea.

In order to enable the fastest possible opening of the node, the conclusion is often omitted; the last part of the node is set to slip.

Alternatives

Well-trained western horses are sometimes not connected. It is enough if one rein is again wrapped loosely around a bar or just hang down. The horse then stops.

Special lead ropes with panic hook also allow you to tie the rope without panties. The other end is then attached to the panic snap on the halter. Most but still the Pferdeanbindeknoten used.

Not suitable is the Slipstek. It dissolves by the movement of the horse.

Modifications

  • If the loose end pulled as bay through the loop of the slip, results in an additional briefs. This may be continued several times, similar to a Platting. The loose end is inserted in the end through the last loop slip. The result is a node which is described by Ashley as " Schlingenstek with Slip" ( abok # 1715 ).
  • The Mooring Hitch or Quick- Release - node has a two-fold panties.
  • Mooring Hitch / quick-release knot

The right hand formed with the standing part a bay and puts it to the left to the end of the rope,

With the end of the rope a half hitch around the bay, ( surround )

Under the standing part over,

Again form a bay,

Stuck through the first bay to the left and hold

With the right hand and pull tight to get the standing part. Done.

  • A modification of the Mooring Hitch is a simple slip in the slip, see abok # 2154
  • The binding of a Zingulums can also deviating from # 2154 done with a fitted through the end.
