Hanania Baer

Hanania Baer ( * September 24, 1943 in Jerusalem, British Mandate of Palestine, now Israel) is an Israeli cameraman.

Life and work

Baer had begun to work for his multi-year military service in Israel, before he decided shortly after the Six Day War (1967 ), to go to London to be trained at the city's London School of Film Technique for the cameraman. Already in the following year, he was involved as a simple camera man at a nine minute short film ( Sunday Saturnalia ). Since 1977 he has worked as director of photography.

Since the beginning of his career, Baer photographed preferred in the United States an abundance of B- movies ( Dracula Sucks, Alligator, Revenge of the Ninja ), mainly containing action stories. From 1985, he is also a regular at the ambitious and much more contemplative productions of off- Hollywood director Henry Jaglom behind the camera - a collaboration that continues to this day.

With two films - Cinema productions of 1996 and 1997 - Baer has also directed the film. Since 1979, Hanania Baer also manages a significant number of television productions. Mention should be made especially of the 1981 film The radiated wave.

Awards

For his camera work on Andrea 's Story: A Hitchhiking Tragedy ( from the series ABC Afterschool Specials ) and But He Loves Me ( from the series CBS School Break Special) he was in 1984 respectively 1991 each awarded a Daytime Emmy. He had received in 1982 for Daddy, I'm Their Mama Now ( from the series ABC Afterschool Specials ) Another Emmy nomination.
