Hancock is a town in Stevens County in the western part of the U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2000 lived in Hancock 717 people; at the official estimate 2009 Hancock had 692 inhabitants.

Geography

According to data from the United States Census Bureau, the city territory extends over an area of 2.6 square kilometers; of which 2.57 square miles of land and 0.03 square kilometers of water (1.00 %) The Minnesota State Route 9 serves the community as a main road.

Demography

According to the census of 2000, there were 717 residents in Hancock, who divided to 294 households and 186 families. The population density was 279 inhabitants per km ².

The racial the population was composed of 98.19 % White, 0.14% African descent, 0.14 % of Native American, 0.28 % Asian, and 1.26% two or more lineages. 0.28 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
