Hanfu

The Han Chinese clothing or Hanfu / Hàn fú (Chinese汉 ​​服) / Hanhok ( in Min Nan ) / Honfuk ( in Cantonese), also Hanzhuang (汉 装), Huafu or (华 服), and sometimes referred to simply as Silk Robe or Chinese Silk Robe refers.

History

The Hanfu was the traditional clothing of the Han Chinese during a large part of Chinese history and was worn especially in the centuries before the conquest by the Manchus and the establishment of the Qing dynasty ( 1644).

Term

The word Hanfu was not originally used by the Han Chinese, but by the national minorities in order to distinguish their clothes from the Chinese. It is composed of汉(Chinese for " Han Chinese " ) and服(Chinese for "clothes" ).
