Hank Luisetti

Angelo " Hank " Luisetti ( born June 16, 1916 in San Francisco, California, † December 17, 2002 in San Mateo, California ) was an American professional basketball player. He was a key figure in the development of one-handed jump shot, is an important part of modern basketball. Luisetti played in the 1930s and 1940s and is one of the best players in the pre- NBA era. He was 1.90 m tall and played the position of forward.

With his new throwing technique Luisetti dominated the college basketball in the late 30s. Thanks Luisetti his team, the Stanford Cardinals, the 47 games long unbeaten Long Iceland University defeated coach Clair Bee. On January 1, 1938, he threw in a game of 50 points, the first player in the history of the NCAA. Given a choice among journalists as the best player of the first half of the 20th century Luisetti came in second behind George Mikan.

1959 Luisetti was recorded for his career performance in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
