Hannu Rajaniemi

Hannu Rajaniemi (born 9 March 1978 in Ylivieska, Finland) is a Finnish science fiction and fantasy author. He lives in Edinburgh, Scotland and is co-founder of the technology consulting firm ThinkTank Maths.

Life

Rajaniemi reached a B.Sc. in mathematics from the University of Oulu, a Certificate of Advanced Study in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. in mathematical physics from the University of Edinburgh. Prior to his doctor, he completed his military service as a researcher for the Finnish Defence Forces.

During his Ph.D. he castle in Edinburgh went Rajaniemi the Writers' Bloc, a group of authors in Edinburgh, the semi- regular spoken word performances organized and counts Charlie Stross to its members, to. This early work included his first short story published in 2003 Shibuya no Love and his short story Deus Ex Homine in Nova Scotia, an anthology of 2005 with Scottish science fiction and fantasy, with which he drew the attention of his current agent John Jarrold.
