Hans Christian Schmidt

Hans Christian Schmidt ( born August 25, 1953 in Nustrup, today Vojens Municipality ) is a Danish teacher and politician ( Venstre ).

Life

Schmidt completed 1973 Kolding Gymnasium and put his degree as a teacher at seminar Haderslev in 1977. Initially he worked as a teacher.

From 1982 to 2002 he sat on the city council of Vojens. Since 1994 he is a member of the Folketing. He served as Danish Minister for the Environment from 2001 to 2004 and then to 2007 as Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries in the cabinets Fogh Rasmussen I and II 2007, he had to take over the group's presidency. In the government Lars Løkke Rasmussen, he returned on February 23, 2010 to October 3, 2011 as a Danish Transport Minister on the government bench back.
