Hans-Georg Bohle

Hans -Georg Bohle ( born March 3, 1948 in Hildesheim ) is a German geographer, development researcher and professor at the Institute of Geography, University of Bonn.

His human geographical research interests are geographic especially in development research, resilience, vulnerability, Geographical Risk and Livelihoods, with a regional focus in the developing countries of Asia.

Between 2006 and 2007 he was chairman of the Institute for Environment and Human Security of the United Nations University. He's Foundation Board of Trustees of Munich Re. Bohle 2001 was appointed a member of the Academia Europaea, 2007 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina.
