Hans-Heinrich Georg Queckenstedt

Hans- Georg Heinrich Queckenstedt ( Hans Heinrich Georg Queckenstedt written; born August 15, 1876 in Leipzig, † November 1918 in Harburg ) was a German neurologist.

Queckenstedt was born in 1876 as son of a teacher in Leipzig. From 1886 to 1895 he attended the Royal Grammar School of his native city, which he left with the school leaving certificate. He earned his degree in 1900 at the University of Leipzig and worked subsequently at Sigbert Josef Maria Ganser, later Friedrich Martius in Rostock. In 1913 he habilitated. During the First World War he served in the medical corps of the Wehrmacht. He died two days before the cessation of hostilities, when he fell under a horse shunning.

Hans Heinrich Georg Queckenstedt dealt primarily with the movement and flow of the cerebrospinal fluid ( CSF). According to him, the Queckenstedt character is named, which checks the consistency of the subarachnoid spaces of the spinal canal.
