Hans Huber (Boxer)

Hans Huber ( born January 1, 1934) is a former German amateur boxer from Regensburg.

1963, Huber participated in the European Championships in Moscow and retired there in the quarterfinals against Andrei Vasilievich Abramov from the Soviet Union. He won in the same year, the German championship in the heavyweight division and was subsequently nominated for the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Huber was able to advance through the Pakistani Abdul Rehman and the Italian Giuseppe Ros reached the final in the Olympic boxing tournament with wins, but lost on points against the gossamer American Joe Frazier.

Hans Huber originally came out of the ring camp. He was 1956 and 1960, German Vice Champion in freestyle wrestling in the heavyweight division one behind Wilfried Dietrich. Since he saw no chance against Dietrich, the 1960 Olympic champion to win, he moved in 1961 to the boxer stock.
