Hans Markowitsch

Hans Joachim Markowitsch (born 26 March 1949 in Singen) is a German psychologist.

Markowitsch began in 1970 at the University of Konstanz, the study of psychology, from which he graduated in 1974 with a diploma. He then conducted research in the field of physiological psychology, and in 1977 Dr. rer. nat. doctorate. Markowitsch remained as a research assistant at the University of Konstanz and habilitated in 1980 1981 he received -. Again at the University of Konstanz - a temporary professorship, which ended in 1985. 1989 appointed him to the Ruhr University Bochum Professor of Biological Psychology, and since 1991 is Markowitsch Chair of Physiological Psychology at the University of Bielefeld.

Markowitsch works primarily in the exploration of memory and represents a naturalistic position, after which the personality is a product of the nervous system and the environment.
