Hanus Kamban
Hanus Kamban ( born June 25, 1942 in Saltangará, Faroe than Hanus Andreassen ), name change in 2000, is a Faroese writer, journalist, publisher and translator.
Hanus is the son of a teacher couple Petur Andreassen from Velbastaður and Elizabeth, born Kamban from Tórshavn. He grew up with his parents on the island Skúgvoy. In 1956 she moved to Tórshavn, where in 1960 he graduated from high school. After that, he was a substitute teacher and worker until he 1964-65 the Euro Centre in Bournemouth visited and 1966-68 English and German at the University of Copenhagen studied. Because of the student riots, he broke off his studies. 1967-69 he was editor of the journal Fjolnir and then co-editor of Oyggjaskeggja. In 1975, he completed his training as a nurse.
Hanus Andreassen debuted in 1976 with the short story Undir Tinúm veingjabreiði ( Under your wings ), on the German erschien.1992 -94 he was chairman of the Faroese Writers' Association in 2006. His most important work is the monumental biography of Janus Djurhuus, which was translated by his wife Kirsten Brix into Danish in 2001. The three -volume work ( Danish edition: 2 Volumes ) is also a kind of literary history of the Faroe Islands from the 19th to mid-20th century.
1980 Hanus Andreassen literature prize went to the Faroe Islands for literature and in 1986 the same price but this time in the category nice literature. On the Listastevna Føroya ( art meeting of the Faroe Islands ) in 2001, he won the short story contest with "Angels Place". In 2003 he was on the short story Pílagrímar ( The Pilgrim, 2001), nominated for the Literature Prize of the Nordic Council, he but did not get. In 2004, the worth 150,000 crowns Culture Prize of the Faroe Islands ( Mentanarvirðisløn Landsins ) for his oeuvre, highlighting the above Djurhuus biography. In addition, he twice received a grant from the Danish Statens Arts Foundation. In June 2007 he was granted a lifetime stipend from the Danish state.
