Haplography
Haplography is a term used in linguistics, which describes the ( unintentional ) omission of one of two identical consecutive elements written.
Examples:
- Omission of a consonant in triplicate: Shipping is to shipping. In the old spelling was prescribed this type of haplography in certain contexts; the new spelling to avoid them.
- Avoidance of double points at the end of a sentence ( conventionalized ): "The company was called Schmitz & Co. " as opposed to "Does the company Schmitz & Co.? ", Where it is not repaid.
- English is to titillate distillates; → Fulfill full fill.
