Har Hevron Regional Council

Har Hevron (Hebrew מועצה אזורית הר חברון, Mo'atza Azorit Har Hevron ), the Regional Association Mount Hebron, is an Israeli regional administration in the southern Judean Mountains. The seat of government is in Otni'el.

Location

The Har Hevron Regional Association is located in the south of the West Bank, the Israeli Judea and Samaria. Kiryat Arba is indeed surrounded by the territory of the regional administration, but forms an independent local government.

History

Israel occupied in the Six Day War of 1967, the territory of today's regional administration. Most of the Israeli settlements were established in the early 80s of the 20th century. 1983, a separate administrative unit was established for them.

Since 2008 there are three settlements, Eschkolot, Sansana and Beit Yatir on the west, Israeli side of the barrier. The remaining settlements are scattered among the Palestinian territories.
