Haren Berg is a district of the city Seelze. With 1807 inhabitants Haren mountain belongs to the smaller hamlets of Seelze. The district is located near Hannover.

Geography

Haren mountain is located approximately three miles from the city limits of Hannover, close to the highway 441 The village lies within the flat landscape on a hill, from where one has a wide view of the surroundings, even after Seelze Hannover and on the Deister. Haren mountain has three smaller settlement sites outside of the village. These are the living bodies Kollrothshöh, cemetery and a mill that lie at the historic roads of Haren mountain.

History

The timing of the local establishment unknown. In charters of 1195 and 1211 in Hildesheim, there are references to the first place Haren mountain. But this is not unique because of the spelling of the place name. The first reliable written reference dates from 1220.

On March 1, 1974 Haren mountain was incorporated into the city Seelze.

Coat of arms

The town coat of arms leans with the three roses in chief of the coat of arms of the Counts of Hallermund, whose reign was focused on the outskirts of the Deister. In the 13th century had the mouth of Haller family-owned mountain in Haren, who fell to the monastery Marienwerderstraße among others 1220 (gift of Count Burchard of Oldenburg from the heirloom of his mother Beatrix von Haller mouth). Following the reasoning of the coat of arms and heraldic graphic artist Alfred Brecht 1962 scythes stand for the rural character of the village and the Bee ( Imme ) is reminiscent of the deserted village nearby.
