Harold V. Biellier

Harold V. Biellier ( born January 22, 1921 in Bois D' Arc, Missouri, † March 31, 2011 in Columbia, Missouri) was an American biologist. He was a professor at the University of Missouri and was a specialist in poultry; his Super Chicken entered the Book of Records.

Life

Billier grew up on a farm near Bois D' Arc, Missouri and studied at the University of Missouri. In 1943 he achieved a Bachelor of Science and went after the army. In the rank of captain, he finished his active duty and joined an anabolic Study of Poultry Science at the University of Missouri; by the way he worked as a poultry farmer and trader. 1950 to 1953 he served again in the army; From 1953 he taught at the University of Missouri poultry sciences. In 1959 he became a professor for it. As a member of the Poultry Science Asociacion he was, inter alia, also Director of the turkey research programs of Missouri. In 1986 he became Professor Emeritus.

Records

The focus of his research has been to optimize poultry farming and production; in particular the laying performance of hens he tried to improve.
