Harri Nykänen

Harri Nykänen ( born June 20, 1953 in Helsinki) is a Finnish writer.

Life

Harri Nykänen worked from 1981 to 2001 as a journalist with the major Finnish daily Helsingin Sanomat. He was often confronted in his work as a police reporter with criminal offenses. So he researched among others in a tax scandal in a case of police corruption in Helsinki. Maybe make such experiences of its proximity to reality, which is reflected in his characters.

Nykänen but now lives as a freelance writer in the capital Helsinki. Since a 12- part television series ( Thriller ), he is one of the successful crime writers in Finland. Raid is one of the central figures of his thrillers. It is a curious mix of underworld figure and sympathetic activists. Raid makes the crime novels by Harri Nykänen already a curiosity, because this character very often gives a view of the crime by the offender ago and not, as usual, by the scouts of the crime ( the police, the private investigator, etc.) here.
