Harry Catterick

Harry Catterick (* November 26, 1919 in Darlington, † March 9, 1985 in Liverpool) was an English footballer and football coach.

Coaching career

Prior to his engagement at Everton Catterick Crewe Alexandra, trained by 1951 until 1953. 1961 he took over as coach at Everton by Johnny Carey. With the Toffees he won as a coach in 1963 and 1970, the English championship and the 1966 FA Cup. After the unsuccessful 1971 and 1972, he got a heart attack on January 5, 1972, due to high load. After this health blow he resigned as coach and was athletic director until 1975. From 1975 to 1977 he coached still Preston North End. Catterick died on March 9, 1985 of a heart attack after he attended the FA Cup game against Ipswich Town FC Everton at the stadium.
