Harry Frank

Harry Frank (* October 15, 1896 in Berlin, † December 12, 1947 ) was a German actor.

Life

He grew up in Lübeck, he worked as a servant, sellers, magicians, cabin boy and a ship's cook. He made the First World War as an officer mostly with in Turkey. He then became editor of a provincial newspaper and dabbled in Berlin, among others as a farmer and export merchant.

Finally, he stood as an actor in front of movie cameras, initially as a supporting actor, and later in lead roles. His profession was mainly thrillers and comedies, where he played smart, agile characters. By 1936, he starred in several films a year.

After that, his popularity had significantly after Frank and now focused on his work on the Berlin stage, particularly at the Little Theatre in the Renaissance Theatre. He had his last film used in 1946 at the DEFA in thriller raid, where he represented the bar owner Goll, a criminal in post-war Berlin.
