Harry Manfredini

Harry Joseph Manfredini ( born August 25, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American film composer.

Life and work

Prior to his career in the film business, he studied at DePaul University in his hometown of Chicago and got there a bachelor's degree in music. Subsequently Manfredini visited the Western Illinois University, where he received a Master of Arts.

His debut as a film composer he gave in 1975 for the Academy Award-winning short film Angel and Big Joe. Increasingly, he specialized as a composer for horror movies.

The film Manny's Orphans of the year 1978 meant the first collaboration with the director and producer Sean S. Cunningham. Two years later, the horror film was Friday the 13th, in which the two worked together again. Harry Manfredini was responsible for the soundtrack of almost all parts of the Friday the 13th film series until 1988 and until today, the two worked together on all projects by Cunningham.

The 1982 film made The Swamp Thing was the first collaboration with Wes Craven. In the years before Manfredini had worked for the first time with director Steve Miner. Even with these two worked Harry Manfredini several times together. Manfredini is determined from 9 bis 16 August 2012 moderate Theater in Hollywood, the 8th Annual Holly Shorts Film Festival at Grauman 's Chinese.

Since 2002 he has increasingly worked for television.
