Harvey Lembeck

Harvey Lembeck ( born April 15, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York, † January 5, 1982 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor who has mainly comedy roles played.

Career

Harvey Lembeck started his career at the age of 17 at the World Expo 1939/40 in New York, when he appeared there in a duo in dance performances. After the Second World War, he studied in New York and was trained initially as a radio artist, but then decided yet for the stage compartment. Shortly after graduating, he landed a role in the Broadway play Mr. Roberts, which was performed for three years. In the first occupation of the stage play Stalag 17, which celebrated its premiere in 1951, he was more than 400 times in the role of Harry Shapiro on stage. In 1953 he was engaged with his partner Robert Strauss for the eponymous film adaptation of Billy Wilder. Until his death, he appeared in numerous film and television productions.

Private life

Harvey Lembeck married Caroline Dubs, who was already his dance partner in the dance performances at the World Expo. He is the father of actor and director Michael Lembeck and actress Helaine Lembeck.
