Hasanuddin of Gowa

Sultan Hasanuddin ( born January 12, 1631 Gowa Makassar or, South Sulawesi, † June 12, 1670 ibid ) was the most famous king of Gowa and is an Indonesian national hero. His real name is Muhammad Bakir I Mallombasi. As an adult, he was nicknamed Daeng Mattawang and was in an area called Bonto Mangepe king XVI. appointed ( Karaeng Bonto Mangepe ). Like his father, Sultan Said Malikul, he obtained the appointment as king an Islamic title Sultan Hasanuddin. Because of his bravery he was called by the Dutch De Haantjes van het Oosten ( Roosters of the eastern continent ). He died a year after his abdication as King of Gowa in his office building ( Tumenanga Ri Balla Pangkana ) and was in the royal grave system Katangka, in today Gowa, buried. His full name is thus: I Mallombasi Muhammad Bakir Daeng Mattawang Karaeng Bonto Mangepe " Sultan Hasanuddin " Tumenanga Ri Balla Pangkana.
