Hassan Moustafa

Hassan Moustafa ( born 1945 ) is a native of Egypt sports scientists and Handball official. He is since 2000 President of the International Handball Federation (IHF ).

Moustafa studied in Leipzig and was an active handball player in the squad of the Egyptian national handball team. After that, he was president of the Egyptian Handball Federation and head of the organizing committee of the World Handball Championship for Men in 1999, before he was elected in late November 2000 at the IHF Congress in Estoril as President of the IHF. In June 2009 he was re-elected in Cairo for another four years; 115 members of the IHF voted for him, 25 for the opposition candidate Jean Kaiser.

Counter Moustafa determined the prosecution of Basel-Stadt on suspicion of infidelity.

Moustafa also is criticized because of its involvement (confirmed by CAS) at various match-fixing during the 2008 Olympic qualifiers in Asia.
