Hasselblad Foundation

The Hasselblad Foundation (Swedish Erna och Victor Hasselbladstiftelsen ) is an independent, non-profit foundation based in Gothenburg.

Founded in 1979, its purpose is to promote research and academic teaching in the natural sciences and photography. The Foundation also awards annually the Hasselblad Award to a photographer, endowed with SEK 1 million. Chairman of the Board is Göran Bengtsson.

The Foundation's assets comes from Hasselblad Victor Hasselblad heirs († 1978), whose marriage remained childless with Erna Nathhorst.

Scholarships

Since 2004, the Foundation Victor Fellowships for professional and artistic development outside Scandinavia awards.

The Grez -sur -Loing scholarship allows a Swedish photographer, September and October to spend at Fontainebleau at the Hôtel Chevillon.

The San Michele scholarship grants a stay at the Villa San Michele on Capri.

In addition, the Foundation has awarded since 2009, a scholarship for nature photography.
