Hastomo Arbi

Hastomo Arbi (* August 5, 1958 in Kudus, formerly known as Ang Tjong Hauw ) is a former Indonesian badminton player. He won with the Indonesian team to Thomas Cup 1984, the world championship for men's teams. Heryanto Arbi and Eddy Hartono, both also successful in badminton, his brothers are.

Career

1984 Hastomo Arbi was instrumental in winning the Thomas Cup. In the final against China, he was preferred to Hadiyanto, which had been used in the preliminary rounds. Arbi justified the confidence reposed in him and defeated the bronze medalist from 1983 and later world champion Han Jian with 14:17, 15:6 and 15:8.

In the individual disciplines Hastomo Arbi was successful in the Southeast Asia Games in 1979, where he won the men's individual event.
