Hatikva (political party)

Hatikva (Hebrew: התקווה, German: The Hope) is a secular right-wing party in Israel, led by Arieh Eldad.

History

The party was officially established on 9 December 2007. In the Israeli election of 2009, the National Union Party was a member of Eldad and won with the fourth place on the list of National Union. Arieh Eldad was, among others, also the initiator of the thrust in the debate on the genocide of the Armenians in the Knesset: "Before, you could not talk about this question, because we had such good relations with Turkey. Nowadays, you can not do it, because the relationships are so bad. So when is the right moment will be for this? ". However, observers interpret this debate as a " provocation in the ongoing Israeli - Turkish military ', which is caused by the Ship-to- Gaza incident on May 31, 2010.
