Hauksbók

The Hauksbók ( Old Icelandic bok book ' ) is the main source of Old Icelandic manuscript, ( 1334 died ) is named with high probability, their author Haukr Erlendsson.

The manuscript contains versions of some of major Old Norse texts and sagas, such as the Landnámabók that Fóstbrœðra saga, the saga of Eirik RAUDA that Hervarar Saga and the Völuspá.

Furthermore, it contains a chapter on mathematics, called Algorismus which covered include the basic arithmetic operations. It is the oldest mathematical treatise in a Scandinavian language. It also contains cosmographic information that is taken from either the De Imagine Mundi of Honorius Augustodunensis or Etymologiae of Isidore of Seville.
