The Hausen Crater is an impact crater on the moon, which is named after the German astronomer Christian August Hausen the Younger ( 1693-1743 ). This crater is located on the south- southwestern edge of the full moon disk. Therefore, its visibility strongly depends on the libration, even under favorable conditions one can only see him from the side of the Earth.

The Hausen crater is located on the western edge of the crater Bailly. In the northeast is the pingre Crater, north of the crater Arrhenius connects. Its age is estimated at 3.6 billion years.

The rim is nearly circular with a bulge in a south-southeast direction. It is only slightly eroded and does not cover other of craters, there are only a small crater along the southwestern edge. The inner crater rim falls to the north and south terrace-like and is the east and west irregular.

The interior of the crater Hausen is substantially flat with a few rough spots. There is a complex peak formation, which lies a little east of the center of the crater. This formation extends from north to south and consists of several mountain ridges, which are separated by valleys. This is followed south-east, a lower mountain range to the south and a cluster of hills.
