Havana Marking

Havana Marking is a British producer and director of documentary films. Her most famous film Afghan Star (2009), which won the Festival Award Best Director and the Audience Award at the Sundance Film 2009. In the film, she accompanied the participants in the production of the Afghan version of American Idol, a TV competition, after 30 years of Taliban rule, war and unrest, hardly anyone would have thought possible. In 2013 they released their documentary Smash and grave: The Story of the Pink Panthers. This film is about Pink Panther, a group of international jewel thieves who allegedly looted approximately $ 250 million in more than 150 robberies. Life

Marking was born in England and moved as a child to the United States. Her father, Giles Marking, is a designer in London and was professor of architecture at the University of Washington. Stacy Marking, her mother is a journalist, author and businesswoman. She was one of the first female television directors in the United Kingdom.

Marking is the Director of the British independent film company Roast Beef Productions. The business plan of the company was: "Get a studio, fill it with talented people and see what happens " ....
