Hawksley Workman

Hawksley Workman ( born March 4, 1975 as Ryan Corrigan ) is a Canadian singer-songwriter.

Biography

Hawksley Workman grew up in Ontario, Canada and began his musical career as a drummer. Throughout its development it has become a multi-talented when it comes to instruments, so he virtually every part yourself playing on his records and sings. Early in his career, people became aware of him when he wrote personal letters to magazines to his fictional muse Isadora. These and other letters were also compiled in his first book " Hawksley Burns for Isadora " ( Gutter Press, 2001 ).

Hawksley has worked as a producer for artists like Sarah Slean, Jeen O'Brien, John and Tegan & Sara Soutworth.

After his second album, " ( Last Night We Were ) The Delicious Wolves " was released, Hawksley spent a year in Paris. He is now back in Canada, has worked at the time in Paris with artists such as Johnny Hallyday, techno artist Tommy hooligans and indie newcomers Aston Villa.

On June Prize 2002, he received the Best New Solo Artist and Best Video for " Jealous of Your Cigarette ".

He toured Europe with the greats such as David Bowie, Patti Smith, New Order, The Cure, Marianne Faithfull Noir Désir and. During the last World Cup, his performance of the Beatles song " Revolution" for a television commercial with the French soccer star Zinedine Zidane was broadcast.

He has a centuries-old one-room school building that has been visited his grandmother as a child. It serves him today as a home and as a recording studio.

With Isadora Records Workman operates its own publishing house. Also present is the Canadian singer -songwriter Serena Ryder.
