Haworthia cymbiformis is a plant of the genus Haworthia in the subfamily Asphodelus ( Asphodeloideae ).

Description

Haworthia cymbiformis growing stemless and usually sprouts. The broadly ovate to lanceolate, flat to concave leaves form a rosette with a diameter of up to 13 centimeters. The usually opaque, yellowish green and expectant or in the sun pink suffused leaf blade is as thick as broad usually one-third.

The loose inflorescence reaches a length of up to 25 centimeters and consists of 10 to 15 white flowers.

Systematics and distribution

Haworthia cymbiformis is widespread in South Africa's Eastern Cape.

The first description as Aloe cymbiformis by Adrian Hardy Haworth was published in 1804. Henri -Auguste Duval set the type 1809 in the genus Haworthia.

There are numerous synonyms.
