Haworthia truncata is a species of the genus Haworthia in the subfamily Asphodelus ( Asphodeloideae ).
Description
Haworthia truncata grows slowly and stemless clumping. The ten to twelve suddenly pruned leaves are arranged in two rows on the engine. The dark gray-green leaf blade is 1.2 to 4 inches wide and 0.3 to 1 centimeter thick. The semi-translucent end faces are flat to slightly furrowed. The leaf surface is rough. On it are tiny warts.
The inflorescence reaches a length of up to 20 cm and is composed of 20 to 30 petals. The flowers are veined white and brown.
Systematics and distribution
Haworthia truncata is common in the South African province of Western Cape in the Little Karoo.
The first description by Selmar Schönland was published in 1910.
